GORGEOUS WASHINGTON STATE GARDENS WORTH SEEING

Well, it’s that time of year again in our beautiful Pacific Northwest! The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and flowers are in full bloom. This is the time of year when it is important to get outdoors and play tourist throughout our state, and really explore what’s out there. Whether you have a green thumb or not— several stunning PNW gardens can inspire the horticulturist in all of us.


With that said, we have found our favorite gardens in Washington State that are well worth the day trip to check out! Here they are…


The Bloedel Reserve, Bainbridge Island, WA

This beautiful 150 acre forested garden is just a ferry ride from downtown Seattle. It features traditional Japanese style gardens , immaculate lawns, and zen sand gardens.



2. Lakewold Gardens, Lakewood , WA

Just south of Tacoma, WA, Lakewold gardens is a 10 acre historic garden estate features a wisteria covered veranda, gorgeous spiral staircase, a unique quatrefoil pool, winding pathways, and a historic brick walkway. 



3. Point Defiance Park Rose Garden, Tacoma

Located in Tacoma, WA’s Point Defiance Park, the PDP Rose Garden boasts an array of various botanicals and beautiful ponds and perfectly manicured greenery.



4. Dunn Gardens, North Seattle, WA

Part of the National Register of Historic Places, Dunn Gardens began in 1911, and features a vast variety of florals, inspired by the book, Alice in Wonderland.



5. Woodland Park Rose Garden, Seattle, WA

Woodland Park’s Rose Garden is a stunning array of all types of varietals, featuring beautifully manicured shrubbery and a rustic gazebo for meditation.



6. Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens, Woodland, WA

Another Nationally Historic Site, Hulga Klager Lilac Gardens hosts an annual Lilac Days event that is open to the public. Imagine the fabulous fragrances you’ll be swept with upon entering!



7. Ohme Gardens, Wenatchee, WA

This stunning garden is located on 40 vast acres in Eastern Washington. Developed in 1929, it was a true labor of love- consisting of gazebos, cactus gardens, rock gardens, and more.
